Integrate a Yahoo! Mail on a BlackBerry phone, a BlackBerry Playbook tablet, or a Smartphone with Android technology

Overview

While trying to add a Yahoo! Mail on a BlackBerry Smartphone running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 or BlackBerry 6 or 7, the following error message is presented:

E-mail address or password not correct. Check the email address and password. If the error continues, contact Yahoo

When attempting to add a Yahoo! Mail on a BlackBerry Playbook tablet, a BlackBerry 10 Smartphone or a Smartphone with Android technology, one of the subsequent error messages is displayed:

Unable to find the connection information. Use the Advanced Settings. 
Or
the login information for the account (user@yahoo.com) has changed or is not correct. Update your login information and try again. 
Or
you cannot authenticate your account. Update the account settings and try again. 

Reason

Reason 1

• The login data entered for the Yahoo! Mail is wrong.

Reason 2

Reason 3

• The Yahoo! Mail is inactive. This can result if the account has not been accessed for a period of four months.

Reason 4

• The Yahoo! Mail is waiting for a CAPTCHA answer.

Reason 5

• The Yahoo! It has expired.

Reason 6

• The profile of Yahoo! shows that the user is 13 years old or younger.

Reason 7

• The second login verification is activated in the Yahoo account.

Reason 8

• Yahoo! is adjusting to a service "without password" and authentication must be done through a verification code.

Resolution

Solution for reason 1

• Check that the login information is accurate when you log in to Yahoo!

Solution for reason 2

1. Start the browser on the BlackBerry Smartphone.
2. Scroll to: mail.yahoo.com
3. Log in to the Yahoo! affected
4. Go to the “Account Security “setting.
5. Choose Allow applications that use less secure login. 
6. To deny or disable access to applications, deselect the unwanted application.

Solution for reason 3

• Reactivate Yahoo! Integrated mail Get in touch with Yahoo! for more information about reactivating the email account.

Solution for reason 4

• Log in to the Yahoo! through webmail to delete the CAPTCHA question. Sometimes, this just does not work and you can use the URL https://mobile.login.yahoo.com / to log in and remove the block.

Solution for reason 5

• Change the password of the Yahoo! and wait a few minutes before trying to integrate the Yahoo! again.

Solution for reason 6

• Update the Yahoo! profile to indicate the correct date of birth.

Solution for reason 7

1. Log in to your Yahoo account.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Account information.
4. Select Application password.
5. In Generate a new application password, enter a name, such as BlackBerry.
6. Select Generate password.
7. Integrate the email address to the BlackBerry device with the Application Password.

Solution for reason 8

1. Open the browser on the BlackBerry Smartphone.
2. Scroll to: mail.yahoo.com
3. Log in to the Yahoo! affected
4. Select the verification code method (SMS, phone call or mail).
5. Enter the code when you receive it.
6. After finalizing, re-integrate the account into the phone with the standard integration method.
